Passengers in the country are expected to pay an additional fee for the services that would be rendered by commercial drivers in the country as preparations are underway by the mother transport union to introduce new transport fares.  

Information reaching SN24 News is that the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) has hinted of a possible fare increment in the few days ahead as proposals have been sent to the Transport Ministry for deliberations on it.

According to the information, a meeting has been scheduled for tomorrow with stakeholders to conclude on the percentage to be added to the current transport fare in the country to help commercial drivers make their daily sales.

Confirming this on Ark Mid-Day News Monitored by Soiree News Nana Ama Asiedu, Deputy General Secretary in charge of Operations at GPRTU, Mr. Richard Yaw Amankwah said processes are far advanced to this effect and the final discussion with the Minister for Transport on how much percentage to be added will be finalized tomorrow.
