Manchester United have contacted Aston Villa for Jack Grealish according to the Daily Mail.

The Villa captain’s transfer was put on hold following Manchester United’s pursuit of Jadon Sancho.

Dortmund’s inability to cooperate with the Premier League club has shifted their focus on the 24-year old player who helped his side remain in the Premier League following a tough a challenging contest at the bottom three, which saw Norwich City, Bournemouth and Watford exit the Premier League.

Aston Villa are standing firm on their £80m price valuation yet Manchester United are hoping negotiations could be made for a price reduction.

The Red Devils have decided to include second-choice goalkeeper Sergio Romero in the offer following the arrival of Dean Henderson to provide competition to David De Gea.

Grealish’s purpose as a captain was to keep Villa in the League as further actions withheld until the mission was done.

“I'm not too sure at the moment,” he said after Aston Villa’s 1-0 victory over Arsenal.

"I have one aim and that is to keep this club in the Premier League, where this whole fan base know we belong.

"That's all I'm thinking about at the moment and hopefully we can do that on Sunday."
