The Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central in the Western Region Hon. Peter Kwakye Ackah has announced that 25% of riots being peddled in the country are a result of chieftaincy disputes. 

As part of his contribution towards this year's Eddie Yam Festival at Wassa Amenfi traditional council, he called on traditional authorities to end all chieftaincy disputes that are derailing the development of the various communities. 
 
Honorable. Peter Kwakye Ackah acknowledged the important role the chieftaincy institution plays in settling scores among people, he encouraged the traditional leaders the need for the institutions to monitor the increasing rate of riots and disputes among the chieftaincy institution is reduced to bring back the confidence of Ghanaians in the traditional authorities the power to settle scores among themselves and the people.

The president of the Wassa Amenfi traditional council and also the president of the Western Regional House of Chief's Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II addressed the chiefs and people of Wassa Amenfi called on them to serve one another to bring growth to the nation and for that matter Wassa Amalfi.

He thanked the MP of Amenfi Central for honoring his invitation to support the festival yet to take place in the Wassa Amenfi traditional area.
