The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the Concern Drivers Association, Nii Ashie has stated that the association is highly disappointed in the minority in Ghana's parliament (NDC MPs) for being quiet in the frequent increment of fuel prices in the country.

Speaking on Shaft FM morning show, monitored by Soiree News24, the chairman said the NPP government for the past two and half months has adjusted high the prices of fuel 7 times, as fuel now sells at 26 cedis per gallon, but the minority, with all the unprecedented numbers in Parliament, has been silent on frequent surge in prices of the fuel.

"The government have increased fuel prices 7 times this year, but no one seems to care about it, we're particularly disappointed in the minority for being quiet in these challenging times."

He further accused the MPs of being the beneficiaries of the frequent price hike, the reason for their silence.

"It seems we're in this alone, the minority MPs seem to be benefiting from the price increments since they own filling stations across the country," Mr. Ashie said.

He further disclosed that the concerned drivers and other like-minded associations have made it a point to increase transport fares on the 28 of March, but will first seek a discussion with relevant stakeholders and if their pleas are not heeded to, they will hit the streets with a demonstration before increasing the prices.
