Mona Gucci has revealed that soldiers are taking advantage of the respect citizens have for the government to exploit the citizens.

The prominent female personality used the recent rise in police brutality in which innocent protesters were shot to death at the Ejura protest and the new clip of soldiers terrorising citizens because of a missing phone.

According to her, the uniform is a sacred duty to protect the citizens of the country and not power meant to be used to kill and maim.

“Soldiers, what we know is that you are supposed to be protecting citizens. But you are beating us. We respect you because of your uniform. This doesn’t mean that some of the citizens you bully are not physically strong. But we know we can’t fight with someone in uniform."

"We respect the government. This doesn’t mean they can’t fight back. They are held back by the respect the uniform accords. You have disgraced the Ghana Armed Forces with your actions.”

This she said while hosting the Bribi Gye Gye Wo show.

In the recent video of military brutality, soldiers had been captured terrorising inhabitants because of a missing phone.

From the reports obtained, the soldier reported his phone missing after riding in a ‘Keke’.

He subsequently called on his military friends to help find his phone which led to the "roughing up" of citizens under the guise of interrogation.

In the Ejura shooting, two individuals were killed while two others were severely inured.
