Akufo-Addo Has Failed Us In Fixing Manso Agroyesum Death Trap Road Network–Nana Tabi Agyabeng lll
Road in the Ashanti Region under President Akufo-Addo administration
THE CHIEF of Manso Agroyesum, the  stronghold of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region, Nana Tabi Agyabeng lll, has accused the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for failing to take pragmatic measures to fix the bad road network in his jurisdiction.

The chief complained about deplorable roads in the area in spite of President Akufo-Addo’s bragging about unprecedented development during his tenure.
The traditional ruler disclosed that the NPP’s so-called development projects are not evident in their area, road stretch linking Manso Agroyesum is not motorable; it becomes muddy anytime it rains.

The respected chief said “in the dry season the amount of dust particles from the road is unbearable, and it further pollutes the air and water bodies, which makes movement in the urban centres difficult.”
He expressed anger over government’s failure to fix the  deplorable road in his jurisdiction, saying that they are lacing their boats to embark on a demonstration to express their grievance against the Akufo-Addo-led NPP administration for “neglecting the Manso Agroyesum.”
According to the chief, the government had on numerous occasions failed to fulfill its promises made to the people living in Manso Agroyesum in the Ashanti Region, especially with issues regarding the poor nature of roads in the area.
“We are not happy at all about the government because whenever people travel on Manso Agroyesum main road, you will become a multi-colored human being as you will be either red or black” Nana Tabi Agyabeng lll,  Torgbui Koku Ahiem IV said.
He maintained that the current government under President Akufo-Addo has neglected their roads and warned the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government should not come to organize election in his area if the government don't repair their death trap road.
According to the traditional ruler, their anger stem from the fact that prior to the 2020 general elections, President Akufo-Addo visited the Manso Agroyesum in his campaign tour to make promise to fix the deplorable nature of the road but the President has failed to redeem his promise.

He mentioned that the traditional authorities of Manso Agroyesum have fellowed up with the matter by way of petitioning the Chief Executive Office (DCE) of the Amansie South District Assembly, Mr Clement Opoku Gyamfi
to appeal for help but fallen on deaf hear.
He stressed that the lack of the efforts by the government and Assembly to fix the road has   informed his decision to make public of his concern by stating that he make sure that the elegible voters in his area will not vote in the 2024 general election if government fails to construct roads in the community.

The chief lamented that there have been persistent deaths of pregnant women and incidents of still births due to the patchy road network in the area.

Nana Tabi Agyabeng lll complained bitterly
that the situation is so precarious that pregnant women have to be driven in motor bikes before being taken to the hospital.
He noted that they are preparing to make a huge sign post at the junction leading to the community to declare our stand that: “no roads, no vote in 2012 general elections.”
Nana Tabi Agyabeng lll accused the District Chief Executive of the area for doing very little to resolve the crisis.
"Many pregnant women died on arrival at the hospital because of the poor road network in the area. Some of them lost their babies whilst the others gave births or got miscarriages even before arrival at the hospital due to the poor nature of the road," the chief stressed.
The chief also complained bitterly how many farm products got spoiled because the drivers failed ply the road to transport the products to the nearest markets for sale.
Nana Tabi Agyabeng lll warned that the residents will not vote in the next election if government does not take steps to construct the roads in the area.
"I would like used this opportunity to call on Ghanaian to be bold enough to speak against evil and corrupt governance in spite of who is in power.
"In Ghana, anytime you speak to the issues affecting your community or life, the corrupt politicians my tried to link you with a political party which is driven the nation into ditch.
He called on Ghanaian to speak to the issues criticize no one can do anything.
"We are swearing heaven and earth that if the government has refused to fix our deplorable roads in the community, we will not vote in the upcoming December 7, 2024 polls," Nana Tabi Agyabeng lll vowed.
He stated that residents, Okada drivers, and passengers expressed the difficulties they are experiencing in plying their death trap road networks which they lamented was affecting easy transportation system in the area.
Manso has been well noted for their huge contribution to the national economy, being the second largest producer of cocoa in the Ashanti region, and a producer of timber and gold amongst other natural resources. However, their contribution to the national economy has not been reflective in road infrastructure in the area.
The chief bemoaned the “unspeakable nature of the road” had gradually become a death trap for all residents.
“The appalling flooded road network has resulted in many preventable road traffic accidents, caused miscarriages of previous pregnancies, loss of harvest as a result of road blockage to farmlands,” he added
He indicated that the appalling nature of the road has increased armed robbery attacks as unperceiving drivers have had no option than to slow down in the midst of huge potholes through the forests, being attacked by unscrupulous people at gunpoint.
The Amansie South Constituency has since 1992 voted in favour of the governing New Patriotic Party. They have thus called for a fulfilment of the numerous promises made by the NPP severally during elections, stressing that “Amansie South deserves better.”
