Angry Residents of Bantama demand EXPLANATION for the closure of Bantama Block ‘A’ Junior High School

Residents of Bantama Abrepo - Junction in the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly have communicated dissatisfaction towards the Kumasi Mayor, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi, Nana Bantama hene, Baffuor Asare Owusu Amankwatia V, and the Kumasi Metro Director of Education for the closure of Bantama Block ‘A’ Junior High School without a cause.

Residents called a press meeting on Thursday morning to address their petition after they woke one morning to see the school shut down. The school according to the angry protestors has nurtured high profile personalities in the country therefore; they need an explanation on why such action was taken by the various stakeholders.    

 

 

The Bantama Block ‘A’ Junior High School nearby the Kumasi race course according to reports was closed down to hand  the building to the Adventist Senior High School to take over. Information gathered by SoireeNews indicate that students have been relocated to a nearby school whiles teachers are waiting to be reposted.

The Assembly Member for the Abrepo Junction Electoral Area, Hon. Desmond Amankwa has accused the Mrs. Martha Owusu Agyemang, the Metro Director for Education as the brain behind the school’s conclusion.

“The brain behind everything is Martha Owusu Agyemang. With all due respect, she did not revere the people of Abrepo Junction in this matter. The people are accusing me of conniving with the people involved for the closing of the school but that is not the case”

“She should have consulted us in decisions like this… To the extent of closing down of the schools, which has provided a lot of intellectual is very unfortunate. The Community is not pleased at all,” he ended.
