Burkina Faso centre-back Edmond Tapsoba wants to be consistent.

Burkina Faso defender Edmond Tapsoba believes that to have a successful career, he needs to put in more consistent performances.

The 23-year-old center-back has been at Bayer Leverkusen since January 2020, but a move to the Premier League has been suggested.

"The most difficult thing for a football player is to stay consistent," he told BBC Sport Africa.

"You may play a terrific game, but to win every day, you have to be on top, and that's what I'm trying to accomplish."

"It's putting pressure on me, and the people of Burkina Faso are incredibly supportive." I strive to make them proud of me at all times."

Bertrand Traore of Aston Villa is the only Burkina Faso player in the Premier League, but Tapsoba has been projected to join him in England by people in the West African country.

"I believe Edmond Tapsoba is on the correct track," journalist Moussavou Billa stated.

"He has shown that he possesses all of the characteristics required to play for a major league club." Whether it was in the Europa League or the Bundesliga, he delivered with Bayer Leverkusen.

"He's been a vital player for the national squad as well." He could play for any Premier League club, including Liverpool, Manchester United, and Chelsea. Edmond has the potential to emerge as the next big Burkina Faso star in the Premier League."

Tapsoba was a member of the Burkina Faso team that advanced to the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon this year.

However, the Stallions were defeated by the hosts in the third-place play-off, and Hubert Velud took over as coach.

Tapsoba aspires to create an impression at the international level, by qualifying for the 2023 Nations Cup starting on May 30.

"Every African player who plays in Europe dreams of playing in the Africa Cup of Nations, followed by the World Cup," he remarked.

"I believe I can resurrect the dream and try to win something."

"I want to play for one of the five major clubs in the world not only for a day but for the remainder of my career and to win a trophy for Burkina Faso."

Tapsoba, on the other hand, is eager to give back to his people.

"I'm aware of my origins. He added, "I can't claim I grew up in a bad situation since I grew up in a good situation."

"I was with individuals who didn't have anything to eat or a place to sleep, so I need to share what I have today with them since they give me guidance as well."

"From my end, I should do my best to help them.

"Every young African athlete can do what I am doing now, but you must have faith in yourself." Don't let anyone try to throw you off your game. Follow your dreams, work hard, and I believe everything will fall into place with these two."
