Captain Smart To Resume On June 4

Captain Smart has disclosed that he will return to work at Angel FM on the 4th of June, 2021.

The outspoken personality has been under fire for his criticisms of Akufo Addo's government on air.

While speaking in an interview with Paul Adom Otchere on the Good Evening Ghana show on Thursday, May 6, 2021, Captain Smart narrated the whole saga and admitted that he has been suspended for standing up and speaking against the bad governance currently in place.

He revealed that his suspension letter was forwarded to him on WhatsApp because he refused to attend his "suspension" meeting with the General Manager of Angel FM.

Captain Smart further maintained that he will not stop standing for the truth because nobody can take his voice away from him.

He also noted that a suspension would not make him grow hungry, because his brain always works for him to bring him food.

“If he had called to tell me, Captain, I cannot work with you again. I would have had no problem because I will not go hungry. My brain works,” he said. 

He fully outlined the events that led to his suspension, noting that it all started when Samuel Kofi Acheampong(Bronzy) warned him to stop speaking up against President Nana Addo and his officials.

According to Captain Smart, Dr Kwaku Oteng said in a phone convo that he (Oteng) had been told that he (Captain) had insulted President Akufo-Addo, Vice, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Alan Kyeremateng amongst others.

He however explained to the boss that the reports were fake and noted that he would apologise on air if there were evidence to prove the reports right.

“I told him that I can say all sorts of things in this world but to go to that extent to say that the President of the land, the Vice, the IGP and Alan Kyerematen are fools, no! if you can provide me with the evidence, I will apologize to the world and resign from your company”.

“In the course of our conversation, he told me that because of the pressure, when I close from work today [Thursday, May 6] he would want me to go off air for some time and when the pressure from above comes down, then I can resume”

 “I said ok if that was going to help you because I am just one individual and you have all these companies, if Captain Smart alone will bring your company down, why not, I will do that [step aside] for you,” he recounted.
