Frank Lampard has added Nice defender, Malang Sarr to his project.

The young French defender has signed a five-year contract for the Blues after leaving Nice on a free transfer following the end of his contract.

Sarr will be loaned out of the club be able to partake in matches elsewhere until he is ready to feature in Chelsea’s first-team matches.

Sarr played for his local side Nice since he was five years old and became a regular in their first team at the age of 17

He is a primarily center-back but can also play on the left of a back three and at left-back.

The Frenchman made 100 appearances for the club in three years and won the club’s young player of the year award having tasted Europa League games and Champions League qualifying matches.

“The opportunity to sign Malang was one we could not miss. He is a tremendous prospect and we will be monitoring him closely during his loan period, hoping he will soon be back at Chelsea. We are very happy to welcome him to the club today,’ Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia said.
