Executive Director of Wacam, Mr Williams Owusu-Koranteng, has stated categorically that the new generation has failed to contribute their quota to the need to protect the destruction of the natural resources left behind by the forefathers in the country.

According to him, it is unfortunate that the new generation has woefully failed to work to protest the destruction of water bodies, fertile lands, environment and forest range reserves that defined the toils of the old age during their service to the West African country.

"Our forefathers used their wisdom and knowledge to work hard to protect our natural resources and left them for but even although the new generation with the adoption of the new technologies or machines that they could use to protect our natural resources, but failed in this regard, Mr Owusu-Koranteng stated.

Mr Owusu-Koranteng expressed this sentiment when addressing a press conference to mark the celebration of 21 editions of the World Earth Day.

World Earth Day is celebrated today on April 21, 2021, with the theme “Restore Our Earth.”

He noted that 'it is our hope that, the small part of the earth called Ghana will very soon be cracking the whip against these illegal miners to save the country from the dangerous couple of illegal mining and water pollution.'
