Cwesi Oteng has offered his reason for supporting the National Patriotic Party (NPP) and its Presidential candidate, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo.

According to him, Nana Akufo-Addo is interested in social development or Ghanaians more than any other candidate.

He said this while speaking in an interview on “Opposing Views’ on MX24GH. 

“Because I love Nana, a social development advocate… That’s why I don’t like the tag, a gospel musician. I like to be seen as a social advocate… I am interested in seeing society moving forward. I also have opinions that will go a long way to bring social development,”

He also told the host of the show, Kwabena Kyenkyenhene Boateng why he has specifically decided to support Nana Akufo-Addo.

“I respect all the presidential candidates but I’m drawn to Nana because I see him as someone who is interested in social development and not just as a president but as a citizen. I’m also drawn to him for his interest in God (the cathedral). I’m happy that girls all over Ghana have the opportunity to be educated. That is why I believe he’s the perfect choice.”

Cwesi Oteng also mentioned how endorsing Nana Addo in 2016 almost ruined his life.

“after making that endorsement I went down. It was too bad for my business”.

I did what I did because it’s everybody’s civil right to have a political choice so I did it from that perspective.”
