Gareth Bale’s impressive performance against Burnley which earned him two goals on Sunday has been described as the best ever from the Real Madrid loanee since reuniting with the Premier League outfit in the summer.

The Welsh captain scored twice as Mourinho’s side defeated the Clarets by 4-0 which ended their losing run in the Premier League after five games without a win.

“It is the best Gareth Bale that we have had this season,” he added. “More confidence, better condition and no bad feelings with injuries.

“His left foot will always be his left foot, but the change of speed, the change of direction and winning duels was not something he was able to do three or four months ago.

Spurs are chasing for a top-four position as they sit eight on the Premier League table, one behind Liverpool and six points from the top four position.

The Portuguese manager believes Spurs need the forward more than ever to help the team attain the height as the season gradually closes.

“In this moment, he is giving us that so I’m very happy for the team because the team needs him.

“But very happy for Gareth because, of course, he is a Spurs boy and it means a lot to him to bring happiness to people,” he said.
