An aspiring parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Lower West Akim Constituency of the Eastern Region, Mr Owen Kwame Frimpong, popularly known as Darling Boy, has joined the  Otwenkwanta branch executives of the NDC to embark on a massive clean-up exercise to clean coked gutters and week bushes in Otwenkwanta community.
The clean-up exercise, which was organized by Otwenkwanta branch executives of the NDC, was aimed at ensuring sanity in the community.
They teamed up with the chief, assembly member, unit committee members, and the youth of Otwenkwanta to embark on the clean-up exercise.
The participants including the NDC Lower West Akim hopeful swept, removed debris and cleared weeds.
The choked gutters within the Otwenkwanta were distilled.
Apart from the clean-up exercise, he also donated ten bags of cement as well as GH¢1000 to support the Otwenkwanta community to construct speed ramps on their road.
Speaking in an interview with Soireenews com, the famous young politician and business tycoon highlighted the need for organizing such programme in the community and pledged that there are more to come to the various communities in Lower West Akim. 
Mr Frimpong was determined to stop untidy conditions on the streets and markets across the constituency.
He stressed the need of the residents to stop dumping indiscriminately in the open places in ensure good environmental sanitation.
He called on the residents to take full responsibility of cleaning environment according to the current environmental sanitation bye-laws.
To this end, the NDC Lower West Akim hopeful called on the delegates and members of the NDC in the area to rally behind him by way of voting massively for him to win the yet to be held parliamentary primary in the area.
 
Mr Frimpong stressed that he is the only candidate who has capacity to snatch the parliamentary seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 general elections.
