Mahama’s third witness to be cross-examined today

Robert Joseph Mettle-Nunoo is expected to join the proceedings of the Supreme Court via video call to be cross-examined in the ongoing election 2020 petition in Ghana.

Robert Joseph Mettle-Nunoo, the third witness for the petitioner, John Mahama, will be cross-examined when the Supreme Court resumes hearing today, Monday, February 8, 2021.

Mr Mettle-Nunoo is expected to join the hearing via online video conferencing as was done last Friday.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has struck out some portions of Rojo Mettle Nunoo's witness statement in the ongoing election petition.

The paragraphs are 4,5,6,7 and 18 were struck out of witness statement.

The lead counsel for President Nana Akufo-Addo, the first respondent,  Akoto Ampaw, requested that the court strikes out 23 paragraphs from his statement.

But the Justices of the apex court in a unanimous ruling ordered the removal of only five paragraphs to pave way for the cross-examination.

Mr Mettle-Nunoo was one of the representatives of the NDC  in the Electoral Commission’s (EC) ‘strong room’ during election 2020, filed his witness statement in support of John Mahama.
