Manchester United is considering selling Paul Pogba in the January transfer window.

The midfielder who joined from Juventus in 2016 has less than two years on his current contract and his agent’s assertions that the player is not happy plays a key role in making such a decision.

Mino Raiola spoke to Tuttosport last Monday that Pogba’s time at Old Trafford is over following his unhappiness in the Premier League club with an extension of contract not likely.

“Paul needs a new team, a change of air. He is under contract for the next 18 months and it will expire in the summer of 2022.

“However, I think that the best solution for both Pogba and Man Utd is that he goes in the next transfer window. If not, the Old Trafford club knows that they risk losing him on a free transfer as it is not Paul's intention to extend his contract.

“Manchester United board know the risk losing Pogba for free given the player has no intention of extending. If somebody does not understand that, then they do not understand football. In any case, let them blame me if Paul leaves.”

The Daily Mail, however, reports that United risk losing the 27-year old for free and would prefer to sell him to interested clubs.

Real Madrid and PSG were earlier linked with the Red Devil player but his former side, Juventus have emerged as the leading contender for the service of the player.

Pogba was on the scoresheet for United in their Champions League game against RB Leipzig, a day after Mino’s comments.

Ole Gunner Solskjaer side failed to qualify into the knockout stage of the Europa competition and the manager is claimed to have held talks with the player on his future.
