Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has been named as LaLiga Santander's Player of the Month for January.

The Belgian is the first Real Madrid player to win this award this season, having earnt it for conceding just one goal in the entire month and winning all three games with Los Blancos.

Courtois is also the first goalkeeper to win this award since the 2013/14 season, when Keylor Navas did whilst at Levante.

In fact, the last Real Madrid winner to receive this accolade was Cristiano Ronaldo in May 2017.

On Sunday, Courtois will receive the award prior to Los Merengues' match at home to Celta Vigo.

This season, the previous winners have been Martin Odegaard (September), Karl Toko Ekambi (October), Lionel Messi (November) and Luis Suarez (December).
