Manchester United have begun discussions with FC Barcelona over the sale of Lionel Messi.

The doubts of the Argentine’s future at the Camp Nou next season has attracted a few clubs who can take care of the FIFA Best player’s weekly wage and other bonuses.

Manchester City were reported to be weighing their options if they can include the forward in their team next season having been cleared off their Financial Fair Play charges by the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).

Spanish outlet Cuatro Deportes has confirmed that the Red Devils have opened negotiations for the six-time Ballon d’Or winner.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side wants to redeem their image having lost their worth as the richest football club in the world to Real Madrid in Forbes 2020 rankings.

Messi’s arrival at Ronaldo’s former club will see a total turn around in their fan base and finances yet the 33-year old is opting for a move from the Catalan club not to build riches but trophies to his name blended with exciting performances on the field of play.
