Old Tafo MP donates streetlights to the 16 electoral areas

The Member of Parliament for Old Tafo Constituency, Honorable Vincent Assafuah has donated hundreds of streetlights to the sixteen electoral areas within the Tafo-Pankrono Constituency. 

The gesture was aimed at securing the lives of his constituents and according to the legislature, residents lives come first therefore whatever it takes for his people to be secured is what he will provide.

Honourable Vincent Assafuah acted upon request from assembly members that crime was on the increase due to the darkness in his constituency and thus he plans on reducing the crime rate by providing them with lights for the time being. 

"The security of my people is taken into consideration, then it is on that basis that on the requests of the assembly members of their constituency, especially in areas where they have been affected with robberies, petty thefts and what have you," the MP said.

"We needed to come in to safeguard the situation. So I discussed with them that in the interim, what could come in as a way of supporting them is by providing street lights, so as to deter such miscreants from engaging in these acts of criminality in their constituency.

"We have provided hundreds of lights that we are donating to every electoral area in the constituency, so that the assembly members will be able to use it in safeguarding our people in protecting our people, in ensuring that there's adequate security in the constituency. I've already discussed with the Nhyiaeso Police Division Command as to how we can beef up security in the constituency so as to safeguard our people."

He assured that there are a lot of things to be implemented to ensure the people of Tafo Pankrono are secured yet "these are just a few that in the interim we are doing for the people."

Honourable Kwame Antwi, Assemblymember forTafo 4 Miles, Asuo Afram Electoral Area applauded the actions of the Honorable Vincent Assafuah revealing that his kind gesture will be remembered by the people for helping to minimise robbery incidents at night in the various communities in the constituencies.

“Ever since I became an Assemblymember, my electoral area was engulfed in darkness with no streetlight but ever since we voted for Honorable Assifua, he has helped to eradicate the darkness in my area and has provided us with lights.

"Today our MP has again presented about 200 streetlights to the constituency. This is not the first time he has done this; his kind gestures have aided in minimizing crime in the constituency which did occur as a result darkness especially my electoral area and such acts need to be applauded.”
