The Pentecost University(PU) has entrenched the study of science-related courses by introducing five new programmes of study.

The unveiling ceremony which came off last Thursday, August 17, 2023, at the University campus saw the introduction of a Bachelor in Electrical and Electronics Engineering(BENG) seeking to equip students with a global drive for smart eco-friendly factories coupled to fulfill Ghana's industrialization vision in the design and analysis of electrical and electronic circuits, providing the mechanisms for automated control of processes, communication systems and signal processing and electrical power generation and delivery.

A bachelor of Robotic and Automation Engineering is meant to make Ghana remain competitive and economically viable through the deployment of large-scale configurable manufacturing systems to enable the nation to benefit by upscaling the deployment of sophisticated manufacturing technologies such as robotic and various automatic machinery, Bachelor in manufacturing programme to help in the training of skillful in products manufacture, process installation and the management of systems that could generate the most effective, quality, and timely outcomes, Bachelor of Systems Engineering which will also serve as a nerve for integrating various components of disciplines necessary for conceptualization, design, development, implementation, and management of economically viable products and projects and lastly, Bachelor of Environmental Engineering which will seek to improve skills and techniques necessary to sustain the effective functioning of the environment in meeting the SDG 13in combating climate change. Addressing the gathering of lecturers, students, parents, University authorities, and guests, the Vice Chancellor of the Pentecost University(PU), Professor Kwabena Agyapong Koduah urged to acquire intellectual knowledge with the God factor will retard personal and national growth and development. He added that one's depth of spirituality coupled with integrity could help in skills development, therefore urging the gathering to seek the same.

On his part, the Deputy Minister of Education, Reverend Professor Ntim... revealed that the government has seen what the future holds in terms of technology, has started Science Technology Engineering and Mathmatics-related schools to change the narratives in the migration from the usual chew, pour and forget systems.

He pledged the government's willingness to assist any school that had waded into science and technology-related disciplines.

According to Deputy Minister, this era is the period for innovation and technology to address the various challenges around the world.

The PU being host to about seventeen nationals and still counting, the Deputy Minister was hopeful the desired expectations of making Ghana a technological hub will be met. He said the programmes outdoor by the university are the kind that is needed.

He lauded Pentecost University for the innovation of home-grown measures in addressing the challenges of the time.
