Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Rema stunned attendees at the 2024 Dreamville Festival in North Carolina when he abruptly exited the stage during his performance on Sunday, April 7, 2024.

Rema, who was in the middle of performing his hit song 'Calm Down' on Day 2 of the festival at Dix Park in Raleigh, halted his performance to address the poor sound quality before ultimately walking off the stage.

Expressing frustration, Rema called attention to the disparity in sound quality between African artists and their Western counterparts on international stages.

He exclaimed, "Hold on, there are too many sound issues. It’s messing up my whole performance. I’m seriously not feeling this sht.

"I’m representing Africa, and this is too messed up. If the sound cannot be perfect for every artist that gets on this stage… Africa is in the house, and you are messing sht up?"

The Dreamville Festival, founded by American hip-hop superstar J. Cole, hosts a diverse lineup of artists but faced criticism over the sound issues experienced during Rema's performance.
