The five new interchanges were built on the Accra-Tema motorway as part of the expansion works on the stretch.

Tema Motorway Interchange Set to Open to Traffic on Saturday

The newly constructed Tema Motorway Grade Separated Interchange is to open to traffic from Saturday, 16th May, 2020.

According to the Ministry of Roads and Highways which announced the opening, directional animations will subsequently be publicized to guide motorists and the travelling public.

“The directional animations which have been developed will subsequently be broadcasted on all TV channels across the nation” the Ministry said.

A statement issued by the Roads Ministry urged the traveling public to “drive cautiously, adhere to Road Safety Regulations and respect directional signage.”

The five new interchanges were built on the Accra-Tema motorway as part of the expansion works on the stretch.

In March this year, the Roads Minister, Kwasi Amoako Atta, said the current Tetteh Quarshie interchange will also be remodelled.

He said it is to ease the flow of traffic as part of the project which will also see the 19-kilometre dual-carriage highway turned into six lanes.
