Thieves ransack 35 plastic chairs at Lower Manya Agric Extension Office

The Municipal Agric Extension Office of Lower Manya Municipality located at Kpong in the Eastern Region has been robbed over the weekend.
This came to light on Tuesday morning, April 13, 2021, when the Lower Manya Municipal Officer of Agric in charge of Extension Services, Mr Alex Fordjuor was granting an interview with Kasapa FM.
"The suspected thieves were able to burgle five offices and took away over 5 desktop computers, a brand new fridge, 35 plastic chairs, a projector and all valuables items we work with," he said.
According to him, the robbery of the offices has been a routine activity by the thieves and this is the sixth time in five years, adding that the office has been burgled but no arrest has been made yet after a formal complaint was lodged at Kpong police station.
“They broke the burglar-proof and continued into the other five offices.
"Due to the past experiences of the robbery cases, my director has secured the rooms but these gangs were able to broke into it to steal and went away with everything ".
"The only thing they left for us are our documents. This is the sixth time of robbery I have witnessed since I was posted to work at this place five years ago”.
He opined that the office needs to be relocated as the current place is full of notorious wee smokers and other drug peddling activities, adding that the Police have failed to clamp down these thieves and drug peddlers.
Mr Fordjour said the current situation has created fear among the staff. According to him, it is time the police arrest the suspects for prosecution.
