Olympic legend Usain Bolt has reportedly tested positive for coronavirus and entered self-isolation.

The retired sprinter turned 34 on Friday and is believed to have returned a positive test for COVID-19 after a check some days ago.

Bolt has begun his self-isolation and it is unclear whether he is showing symptoms of coronavirus, according to Jamaican outlet Nationwide Radio.

The report adds Bolt was thrown a surprise birthday party by family and friends, with Manchester City star Raheem Sterling and Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey among the guests.

The eight-time Olympic gold medalist holds the 100m and 200m world records and retired from the track in 2017 after suffering an injury in his final race.

His birthday celebrations were his first as a father after long-term partner Kasi Bennett gave birth to the pair's first child, Olympia Lightning, three months ago.

Bolt posted a picture holding his daughter on social media on Saturday, captioning the post "Best Birthday Ever."

And Bennett shared the same picture with a tribute to her partner, writing: "On August 21, 1986, the world welcomed a future legend. He would go on to become the world’s fastest man and achieve the seemingly unattainable.

"He captured the hearts of not only his fans but a one, Kasi Bennett. They would then have the most beautiful child out of pure love, Olympia Bolt. And thus began his greatest journey yet...

"Happy birthday to the man I am blessed to call my love. Olympia has the world’s greatest daddy.

"The way you love us is otherworldly and I hope we made this day the most memorable birthday you’ve ever had! We love you so much my baby.

"I won’t do much writing (after that hella long letter this morning) but know that you are God-blessed and high favored. I love you, baby. My king forever."
