A 50-year-old Monica Oware, who hails from Nzema but resides in Obuasi shed uncontrollable tears as she received an amount of 2,200 Ghana cedis support from some residents in Obuasi following a report by soiree news correspondent Yaw Opoku.

Monica, who is with four children lost her husband three years ago and was on the verge of taking her life after unidentified sickness attacked her about two years ago.

In an engagement with Soiree news correspondent Yaw Opoku, she shared her sad story.

"I was a healthy woman who sells garden eggs and pepper to feed myself and the kids but surprisedly I had an infection on my spine which has affected my eyes a year ago, I went to a hospital for diagnosis but was referred to Aglogold Ashanti hospital for treatment but I couldn't make it due to financial loss."

A report by Yaw Opoku on a local radio station in Obuasi shaft FM on the condition of the 50-year-old touched the heart of some residents and an amount of 2,200 ghana cedis was donated to ease her hardship.

She said it got to a point she felt ending her life because things were very tough for her together with her wards but the assistance is a form of hope to keep living.

In an interview with Soiree news correspondent Yaw Opoku after receiving the money, She stressed that all hope was lost in life but thanks to the Almighty and the donor's for the intervention.
