Young nurse shot dead at Bawku by unknown gunmen

Ishmael Bashir, a nurse with the Bawku West District Hospital has been shot dead by unknown men on the Bawku-Bolga road in the Upper East Region region. 

He was driving in a car when he saw the gunmen on the road but tried to find a way to escape and was shot.

The Upper East Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service, ASP David Fianko-Okyere said the indication happened at 2 am on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, when unknown gunmen attack the young man at the Tilli stretch of the Bolgatanga-Bawku road.

The 31 years old man was shot severally and had to be rushed to the Bawku West Hospital but the condition was severe so he was hastily taken to the Tamale Teaching hospital where he passed on.
