Amakye Dede: "Selfish people stealing money at GHAMRO must be looked into"

Amakye Dede, a veteran of the highlife music genre, has accused some GHAMRO executives of embezzling money.

A few musicians in Ghana have repeatedly criticized the Music Rights Organizations for not paying them their unpaid royalties.

Abrantie Amakye Dede bemoaned the money that goes into GHAMRO's coffers and said that certain executives had hoarded money without paying.

He lashed out on Kessben TV, saying, "There are certain people at Ghamro that the small money that they will give it to some musicians for their talent they won't do it out of selfishness."

But as was reported, he argued, "That's not how we should live life because someone has created their music and you don't even know how they came up with the creative piece.

He bemoaned, "You are sitting at the Ghamro office just collecting and embezzling their monies, which is not pleasant because one person alone cannot feed for the rest to go hungry.
