Erasmus Ali Koney Will Win Akwatia NDC Parliamentary Primary–Alliance4change- GH Survey Predicts

Pressure group,Alliance4change-GH, has disclosed that a community poll conducted by itself indicates the parliamentary hopeful for Akwatia Constituency of National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Eastern Region, Mr. Erasmus Ali Koney will likely to beat the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Mr. Henry Boakye Yiadom in the yet-to-be organized party's parliamentary candidate primaries.

Speaking in an interview with Soireenws.
com, the Press Secretary of Alliance4change-GH, Mr Owusu Barima noted that Mr. Koney was tipped to win the upcoming primaries to lead the party to retain the Akwatia parliamentary seat in the 2024 general election.
According to him, anything short of this wouldn't auger well for the National Democratic Congress.
"It is therefore imperative that, full democratic processes of legitimacy are followed as the spirit of the party (NDC) dictates.
"As an advocate for Alliance4change-GH,l therefore implore the NDC hierarchy to ensure internal elections are organized as soon as possible for the kingmakers (branch executives) in Akwatia constituency to elect its parliamentary candidate to re-establish the supremacy of spirit of the party's electoral guidelines and the constitutional provisions to teach generations yet unborn the value of resolving disputes through democratic electoral process rather than the capricious will and whims of selected few," he noted.
"If the voices of the branch is listened to, it will inure to the advantage of the party's fortunes in Akwatia in 2024 general election to retain the seat easily," he suggested.
According to him, the base (NDC) is already very tensed and yearning for a change.
He pointed out that the intelligence picked from the camp of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) indicates that, should Asanka be elected as the party's parliamentary candidate the masses will rally behind him because of his magnanimity and personal rapport with the constituents.
He maintained that the revitalization and Restoration of Confidence in Akwatia Constituency can only be achieved through organizing a fair, transparent and credible internal elections to elect it's parliamentary candidate for the NDC rather than imposition.
Without such a framework, Mr Barima hinted that the tendency of the base being soaked into acrimony and animosity is very high because of the tensed political atmosphere in the enclave.
He added the political skirmishes by a few privileged cabals, holding strategic instruments of power to retardiate the growth of the party at the base, to rape the voice of the people and determine their fate will cost the party a huge political capital in the next General elections.
