15,000 seedlings received by the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District

The Forestry Commission in Asikuma Odoben Brakwa of the Central Region has presented 15,000 seedlings to the chiefs and the people of Breman Traditional Council to be planted across the district on Friday, June 11, 2021, in this year's Green Ghana Day.

The President of the Central Regional house of the chief who doubles as the President of Breman Traditional Council, Odefour Amoakwa Boadu the VIII has said that the plants meant for rooting in the District are in different varieties and as of now, they have received 15,000 of the seedlings with an additional 40,000 to be provided for the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District.

Odefour Amoakwa Boadu VIII  told Soireenews that the whole of Central Region will be provided with 400,000 seedling plants assuring that the trees will be shared in all the towns in the District. He, therefore, urged the people of Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District and its environs to take part in this year's Green Ghana Agenda.

The Forestry Manager for Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District, Mr Kweku Boateng asserted that "we should all help the greening Ghana Agenda as it has been the vision of President Nana Addo to beautify the environment by tree planting."

"Nana Addo has instructed all the Ghanaians to engage themselves in this tree planting exercise so as to help reduce the excessive wind blowing which destroys most asset," he added.

Mr Kweku Boateng explained that the seedling planting exercise will start in Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District on Friday, June 11, 2021, and the District has received their plants already. He, therefore, appealed to the people of Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District to take an active part in the President of Ghana's vision to restore the greenness of Ghana.

"Anyone who wants some of the seedlings should come to the office at Asikuma," before encouraging the people to engage all natives in the exercise.

He finally warned that anyone who will refuse to plant the seedlings after collection will face the law.
