Hiplife artiste, Ex Doe, has singled out that the recent beefs in the music industry is the reason for the steady decline of Ghanaian music.

Ex-doe is known much as the initiator of beef in 1999 with rival, Chicago on the song, “Maba’ after the Voltarian claimed to be the man behind most of EX-Doe's success. Chicago, on his track “Wobeko” which was a direct response to his colleague’s assertions made revelations of how instrumental he was in Ex-Doe's musical life only to denied a shout out when fame caught up with his friend.

He voiced out his frustrations at the artistes who have been getting at each other, labeling them as the reason for the current state of the music industry disclosing that these artistes have caused more harm than good with their petty quarrels.

“It is true as artiste we must be creative sometimes but getting creative through creating rivalries doesn’t help the development of our music.

“Anytime you do music targeting each other would certainly not go far and stay within your borders. Nigerian music has gone far because they don’t create any unnecessary rivalries but help each other thrive for the overall benefit of their industry,’’

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, he explained that an unhealthy music atmosphere where artistes are beefing each other would not bring desired progress. 

“Certainly beef makers do get a lot of attention and people do exploit the situation and make all sorts of negative comments which would stay with you forever.

“Some rivalries over the past years have has created some kind of hatred between artistes and their fan base. So any artiste involved in beefing will have to pay a huge price to someday regardless of the temporary fame or attention they get.

“Till now, people remember my beef with Chicago and Reggie Rockstone than some good music I did in back in the ’90s,’’
