Gospel Light Academy crowned winners in Kweikrom inter-school quiz competition.

Gospel Light Academy has been crowned winners of the Kweikrom D/A basic School after Inter School Quiz competition held at Kweikrom in the Gomoa East Municipality of the Central Region.

Gospel Light Academy has been crowned winners er Kweikrom D/A basic School after Inter School Quiz competition held at Kweikrom in the Gomoa East Municipality of the Central Region.

The Inter-School Quiz competition that was organized by Baptist Child and Youth Development Center seeks to strengthen the educational system in the community.

After the quiz competition of every four rounds in Social studies, English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science, Gospel Light International School Secured the below points thus
Social studies- 67
English Language- 53
Mathematics- 54
Integrated Science- 53 amounting to 227 points.

On the other side, Kweikrom D/A basic School also Secured the below points 

Social Studies- 51
English Language- 79
Mathematics- 30
Integrated Science- 65 adding up 225.

Per the points secured by both Schools, Gospel Light International School defeated Kweikrom D/A basic with two points margin.

The contestants who represented Gospel Light Academy were Michael Kobina Arthur, Bright Takyi Okyere, and Pricilla Abena Essuon.

Angela Bonsu, Stephen Quaye, and Sandra Arthur represented Kweikrom D/A basic School. 

Speaking at the event, the founder and Leader of the Baptist Child and Youth Development center,  Rev. Collins Esuon, indicated that the vision of the church is not only to build the youth's spiritual life but also building their educational system in the community through organizing quiz competition like this.

Also, quiz competition is not common in the rural areas and is about time this kind of competition in the urban areas, should be also held in some rural areas to yield positive results for the children shortly, having said that, the children in the rural can compete with the ones in the urban areas.

Moreover, one of the teachers from Gospel Light Academy, Sir Dominic revealed that he was very optimistic about their victory ahead of the quiz competition and for that matter wasn't surprised when his school was declared winners because the teachers believed in themselves and their students. 

Bright Takyi Okyere, one of the representatives for Gospel Light Academy expressed his profound gratitude to their Teachers for inculcating such knowledge into them which led to their victory.

Nevertheless, the creative arts, basic designing, and career technology teacher at Kweikrom D/A basic School, Samuel Omare wasn't astonished by the outcome of the competition, therefore encouraged his students not to be discouraged even though they lost which the margin wasn't too wide hoping that next time they can do better than this.

One Angela Bonsu, who represented Kweikrom D/A basic School together with her two accomplices added that the quiz had been very helpful to her personally by knowing her strength and weakness but also assured her teachers and parents that next time they are going to do better than this.

"Our opponent beat us by only two points margin, clearly it means if we can work harder our school can beat them by a wider margin. We are going to burn the midnight candle and come like a wounded lion", she said.
