Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he is hopeful that Harry Maguire will bounce back stronger to the advantage Manchester United and the England senior national team, talkSPORTS report.

The 27-year old has been pressed with a lot of struggles following his arrest in Greek during preseason and on the pitch incidents.

Harry is devoid of confidence and has played less role in solidifying the defensive fragilities of the Red Devils which ha contributed to the leakage in their defensive department - United have conceded 11 goals in three matches, and have won, lost and draw each of their Premier League fixtures.

The captain for the Red Devils helped the Three Lions beat Belgium 2-1 at Wembley in the Nations League fixture before two reckless tackles in the game against Denmark saw him book twice to abruptly end his night after just 37 minutes. Christian Eriksen’s only goal saw the Danes emerge victorious at Wembley as England fall to third.

“When Harry is part of the England team that beats number-one ranked Belgium, that's just a normal day and then you get the headlines when you get the sending-off. That's just football for you,” Solskjaer said.

“There's so many ups and downs that we have got to deal with it, individually and as a group.

“Harry's got great resilience. I know he'll bounce back. I'll know that he wants to play, he wants to just work his way out of the last couple of games that he's been criticized (for).

Maguire could miss the Red Devils visit to the Saint James Park after picking up an injury on international duty.

The manager confirmed that he is been assessed and is very confident he can be part of that fixture.

“He picked up a knock against (Denmark) just before he came off, so I'm just hopeful he'll be fit. We've had a look at him yesterday and give him a test again today.”

Matthew Longstaff scored on his Premier League debut to give Newcastle United a 1-0 win over Manchester United last season; a fixture Steve Bruce is looking forward to dominating on home soil.

After the 6-1 humiliation by Spurs, Solskjaer having acquired a few players to bolster his squad will be seeking for a victory to elevate Manchester United from the 16th spot of the league table.
