The Liverpool manager lost his mother and due to travel restrictions in Germany, he missed the burial of Elisabeth Klopp in Germany as he plans of holding a commemoration service when restrictions are lifted.

Jurgen Klopp is heartbroken he could not attend his mother’s burial ceremony.

Elisabeth Klopp died at age 81 but the Liverpool manager wasn't able to travel to Germany for the funeral on Tuesday due to travel restrictions as part of coronavirus measures in Germany.

The former Dortmund manager has been dealt with the blow but paid tribute to the late Elisabeth.

“She meant everything to me,” he told Black Forest regional newspaper, Schwarzwalder Bote.

“She was a real mum in the best sense of the word.

“The fact that I can't be at the funeral is due to the terrible times. As soon as the circumstances allow, we will hold a wonderful commemoration that is appropriate to it.”

Lots of Reds fans have shared their condolences to the manager who has guided them to their first Premier League trophy in 30 years.

Jurgen is the youngest of three children to Elisabeth and Norbert Klopp.
