Afrobeats artiste, Francis Obeng Kumi, popularly known as O'bkay has lamented that the music industry in Ghana has been devastated by the Coronavirus claiming that the Coronavirus has crushed the dreams of upcoming artiste who thought they'd make it into mainstream this year.

The "All Day" Hitmaker confessed that artistes like him have not found ways to make money in the industry apart from the live shows due to the ban on the social gathering.

He said that if Ghanaians were used to taking advantage of the online music markets, things would have been better, but the industry is not set up that way.

“The music structures in the country are not strong to cater for artistes so we must as individuals fight our way through these difficult times,” he said.

“The most important part of being an artist is connecting with your fans and that physical aspect has been affected with the ban on gatherings which I think would prolong until the virus has been properly curbed,’’

“It will be crucial for musicians to seek other means of gaining a livelihood aside pursuing music because the road to recovery will be a long journey.”
