The goat thief, Isaac Ampeh was rescued by the police from an angry mob after he was caught with the animals.

A goat thief who was arrested by residents of Yamoa Nkwanta near Boujiase in the Awutu Senya West Municipality and was nearly lynched has received humane treatment from the Police following a rescue mission.

The Adjei Kodua Police who rescued the thief, Isaac Ampeh, a mason and resident of Gbawe from the marauding residents took to the police station, bathed him and later sent him to the hospital for treatment before sending him back to police cells.

According to a source close to the Police, the suspect went to Atorman, his home town which is a nearby and stole five (5) goats and put them in a sack but luck eluded him at Yamoah Nkwanta, another nearby town and was arrested around 3:30 am of Friday by the residents and was beaten to a pulp.

The source added that but for the Police timely intervention he would have been killed by the residents of the area.

The singular action by the Adjei Kodua Police coupled with the humanitarian treatment given to the suspect has triggered public discussion with many commending the security service for their action.
