Gareth Bale is playing the Mr Nice guy role- he just wants to honour his agreement with Real Madrid by returning to his mother club when his loan with former club, Tottenham Hotspurs ends.

The Welshman left the Los Blancos after falling out of favour with Zinedine Zidane, following an impressive 251 games for Real Madrid, scoring 105 goals and recording 68 assists.

The forwards since joining the Premier League club failed to become a regular starter in Jose Mourinho’s team but has recently improved. He has so far scored 10 goals and provided three assists.

The 31-year-old loan deal with Spurs finishes in June and in an interview with Marca, he will return to Spain after the Euros.

"It's no distraction for me coming into the Euros," Bale said on Tuesday when asked about his uncertain future.

"The original plan was only to do a season at Spurs, then after the Euros, I'll still have a year left at Madrid and my plan is to go back. That's as far as I've planned to be honest.

"Over the last few years, this is probably the most match fitness I've had. I'm feeling fresh and ready to go.

"I always think when things aren't going too well at a club, it's nice to get away, especially mentally get away from the club environment. Definitely, it can be a benefit. We focus on these games for Wales, which are very important for us. We forget club life and concentrate on this."
