The Eastern Regional New Patriotic Party Organiser, Mr Kwame Appiah Kodua has sent a strong warning on behalf of the entire executives to party members who are anxiously declaring support for presidential hopefuls after just three months of general election 2020.

The secretary claims the party's constitution stipulates that there shall be no presidential candidate before 24 months after general election.

"NPP in the Eastern Region with immediate effect have banned all Members the region from openly declaring support for non existence Presidential candidates," the statement of the Organiser.

According to him, no one could be elected as a Presidential candidate 3 months after elections because the party structures does not permits such proclamations.

He said the various claims if care is not taken can lead to insanity, and bring the name of the party into disrepute.

The Organiser added that punitive measures will be taken against any member of the party who holds such a position and openly declares support for a particular presidential hopefuls.

“Anybody who does that for any candidate, will be sacked to set as a deterrent for others to desist from such act."

Mr Kwame Kodua said, it is not time for the presidential candidates to even declare their stands therefore true NPP members should work assiduously for the success of the party.

He further disclosed that the party has issued an ultimatum to all Party executives who have interest in any position such as MP or flagbearer for the 2024 elections to wait and focus on helping President Akufo-Addo to fix the economy into its usual state.
