Some leaders and youth groups of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Northern Region have planned to embark on series of street protests over the dismissal of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Northern Development Authority (NDA), Dr. Sulemana Alhassan Anamzoya.

The street protest, according to the leaders of the groups who spoke to Soireenews.com will begin tomorrow Tuesday 5th April 2021.

To them, they will present a petition to the leadership of the party for onward submission to the appointing authority to consider the appointment of Dr. Anamzoya

Chairman of Wobgu Forum Alhassan Karim told this portal that, the decision of the appointment authority is harsh and does not merit a patriot like the sacked Chief Executive Officer.

According to him, Dr. Anamzoya,  support to the party during the 2020 elections was enormous and unmatched, adding that, aside from his busy schedules as the CEO of the authority during the campaign season, he managed to mount several campaign platforms.

He stated that Hundreds of motorbikes, thousands of Ghana cedis, party shirts, and several other items were donated by the former CEO, Dr. Sulemana Alhassan Anamzoya to the Regional Executives of the party and some parliamentary candidates in the region.

According to him, Dr. Anamzoya adopted the Tolon Constituency during the election and ensured that the New Patriotic Party maintained the parliamentary seat.

"In the Tolon Constituency, he personally handed over motorbikes to a notable person's in the Constituency, dag boreholes in some communities, resource some youth groups campaign activities in order to make the NPP popular in the area. We actually don't fathom the reason behind his immediate sack, after his endless grassroots campaign to see President Akufo Addo reelected and Hon. Habib Iddrisu elected as the Member of Parliament for the Constituency".

He further accused board Members of the Northern Development Authority and some Regional Executives of the party of masterminding Dr. Anamzoya's removal due to their parochial interest.

He hinted at the group's plans to storm the offices of NDA on Tuesday to stop a planned meeting by board members of the authority.

One of the leaders, Mr. Hussein Adam however called on the appointing authority to reconstitute the board and the entire management of the authority else the purpose of the authority will not be achieved, adding that, the board succeeded in sacking Dr. Anamzoya following his resolute to protect the Public purse by channeling the resources of the authority to its intended purpose.

He noted that peace will never rain at the authority until the board is dissolved, according to him will pave way for smooth operations at the Northern Development Authority.

He however made a passionate appeal to President Akufo Addo to elevate the sacked CEO in the government to continue the good work.
