Most Rev Matthew Kwasi Gyamfi, Catholic Bishop of Sunyani and the new President of Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference has announced that the lack of punishment to curtail corruption is making the act more encouraging in Ghana.

Bishop Gyamfi said the nation cannot continue to entertain corruption whilst there are stringent laws and resources which have been allocated to human resources to curtail the menace.

He questioned the importance of leadership while corruption is striving at the expense of the nation.

Most Rev. Matthew Kwasi Gyamfi said this in an interview with soireenews.com in a quest to find out how he sees the government's efforts to fight against corruption.


He continued that those in authority who have been entrusted to nib corruption in the bud are guilty of the act.

This he said has made the elimination of corruption extremely difficult in Ghana.

He finally explained that without the action of those in the helms of affairs to fight corruption, nobody could stop corruption.
