The Member of Parliament for Effiduase - Asokore constituency, Hon. Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie has assured that he will work hard with his campaign team members to amass 90 percent of votes cast in the December elections; an act of expressing gratitude to the party’s flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo for the yeoman's work done in his constituency.

He deliberated on considerable implementations enjoyed by his constituents under the leadership of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and guaranteed that the only way to be thankful for the benefits is through elections.

The Effiduase – Asokore constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Friday, August 28, 2020, launched its campaign team, a mandate employed by the Party executives ahead of the polls. The Member of Parliament who scored 83 percent of the votes cast exposed that the target for the presidential and parliamentary elections this year is to add up seven percent hence their campaign anthem, ‘90-90.’

“Our agenda to help retain Nana Akufo-Addo for the great service for Ghanaians is themed “90=90”, which means ninety percent of registered voters in this constituency, must vote for the president.

“I scored 83 percent of votes here in Effiduase four years ago in a competition of five contestants. I am sure that it will not change because as at the last four years, we had nothing to show,” he added.

The elected campaign team of Effiduase-Asokore includes an information Technology and a retired Security personnel, Social Media Handlers, a Lawyer, Volunteer groups, all Party Executive members plus five influential persons.

The Ashanti Regional MASLOC boss, Hajia Zainab Sallow, and the Regional Deputy Secretary of the NPP, Mr. Kwaku Atta Sarpong inaugurated the campaign team on behalf of the party.

Hon. Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie, who co-chairs the team with the party chairman, Mr. Osei Adiyiah expressed that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has unfinished business in the constituency and so his abrupt exit will be frightening. He revised road infrastructures undertaken in the Municipal, the small town water project in Seniagya, which serves about 5000 people, and the benefits derived by inhabitants since the Effiduase Secondary Technical School was transitioned from a private into a public institution.

He also mentioned the institutional facility toilets, boreholes constructed in 15 towns in Effiduase Asokore, and the ongoing road projects, which includes the 23 kilometers Effiduase to Appaso, the 8km Asokore to Ahinsan highway, and the rural electrification projects in progress at Booya to Appaso, which has helped define the constituency earlier than before.

“From the time of Kwame Nkrumah, we have never seen tarred roads but under Nana Addo’s administration, we have experienced it.

“When government absorbed the Effiduase Secondary Technical School, something the NDC resisted during their time, it has created 112 employments for people in this constituency.

“We want to put a smile on the face of the president through our votes because he has started so many projects, which he must finish. His exit on December 7 will make it scarier and we do not have a choice to vote for Nana Addo to do more and nothing less.

"We are very pleased. We are better off under NPP, We are better off under Nana Addo. The alternative for us is scary and we have no choice to give Nana Addo round two.

“Four more for Nana and nothing else.

He pledged that his campaign team would do whatever possible to make sure their target is achieved to the advantage of the NPP.

“Looking at what the president has done, I can’t afford to go less than 83 and I know and believe with God on our side and able executives and constituency members who have the love of the party at heart, we are going to put smiles on the faces of Nana Addo.”
